The Talent and Innovation Initiative, commonly known as Ti2, is designed to enhance momentum in Nebraska’s fastest growing industries, maintain and build on its world-class workforce, and leverage private sector innovation.
Intern Nebraska (InternNE) provides financial assistance to employers creating new internships in Nebraska. Allison Hatch will discuss how to apply for InternNE grant funding.
The Business Innovation Act (BIA) provides competitive funding for research, development and innovation, and helps expand small business and entrepreneurial outreach efforts that lead to more quality job opportunities. Nisha Avey will share details on the various BIA funding programs.
Angel Investment Tax Credits (AITC) encourage investment in high-tech start-up enterprises in Nebraska by providing 35-40% refundable state income tax credits to qualified Nebraska investors investing in qualified early-stage companies. Joe Lauber will discuss the AITC guidelines and application process.
Grab your startup teammates, family and friends for the first annual Startup Olympics Tournament. Teams will compete at Champion's Fun Center for games, go carts, bowling and more. Have some fun and let off some steam as you compete for prizes and glory.

Agilx and NCEE Labs will co-host an open house at the Technology Development Center in Lincoln, NE located at 4701 Innovation Dr. This is a great opportunity for students, community and business members to interact with software and hardware engineers working with the latest innovative technologies. NCEE Labs who specializes in electronics compliance testing will have a Jacob’s latter on display along with other electronics testing equipment. Agilx will have stations setup for 3D modeling using the Microsoft Kinect as well as interactive stations with the new LEAP Motion Controller. All members of the community are encouraged to stop by and discuss everything technology.

NBDC will offer 2 topics during this session: NBDC Orientation and Grants for Innovation and Business.
The orientation is a starting place for those considering jumping into business for the first time. The workshop will provide you with an overview of NBDC services, expectations, assessment and information designed to assist you with getting started with your business. The Small Business Administration be on site to speak about small business loans and how to apply.
Grants for Innovators and Business: Join innovators/researchers/entrepreneurs for a chance to learn about grant and unsolicited proposals. Learn about requirements, submission steps and registrations, what makes a proposal successful, creating effective partnerships, process for unsolicited proposals, etc. In addition, meet like-minded people interested in commercializing innovation as well as local resources available to assist you with your business venture.
